About Volunteering

LMJS is an all-volunteer organization. Volunteers plan and organize every aspect of our Fourth Sunday Runs, sponsor kids races, order our great club apparel, lead weekend fun runs and training programs, get prizes donated, form relay teams, write articles, take photos, publish our outstanding newsletter, maintain our award winning website, plan exciting events like Tilden Tough Ten, club parties, and much more.

If you have a little free time, a skill you’d like to share with the club, or just want to meet more runners, then you’d be an excellent LMJS volunteer!

Want a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put on a race, and the good feeling of helping your fellow runners? Volunteer to help as a "Regular Volunteer" in 2008, and you’ll be invited to a fun social event to recognize your contribution to the club. NOTE: If you direct two races, volunteer as a helper at four races, or direct one race and volunteer as a helper at two races in 2008, you’ll get an exclusive invitation to a special event for “Super Volunteers."

To qualify as a Regular Volunteer:
- Volunteer as a helper at 2 races, or
- Direct 1 race

To qualify as a Super Volunteer:
- Volunteer as a helper at 4 races, or
- Direct 2 races, or
- Direct 1 race and volunteer as a helper at 2 races, or
- Serve on the Board
