Beginning running programPeriodically LMJS will be offering a beginning running training program for a small fee. The availability of this class will be announced well in advance in the e-bulletin sent to members and other runners, and it will be advertised on the LMJS homepage. A minimum of 6 runners is required in order to offer this training. The limit is 15 runners, to keep things manageable. Below is the basic outline of this class. Beginning Running Training ProgramLMJS will offer a Winter training program, so jump start a running program by joining us. It will begin February 21st at 10:00 a.m. and running for 4 consecutive Saturdays culminating in the March 4th Sunday race on March 22nd. The LMJS beginning running program will be offered for a fee of $25 for non-members and $15 for members for those who want to work up to a 5K which is 3.1 miles! We'll cover topics such as running shoes, running form, safety, injury prevention and hydration and nutrition along the way. Along with the class, your fee will give you free entry into the March LMJS 4th Sunday Run 5K on March 22. We'll provide training schedules, maps, and lots of encouragement. In addition, while supplies last, every runner who signs up will get a long sleeve tee. You'll need to come ready to run every Saturday with a water bottle and towel for the end. This training is appropriate for anyone who wants to work up to a 5K and for those who haven't run for awhile and want to begin again.
