Beginning running programDear Runners: LMJS will be offering a beginning running training program for a small fee this Spring. Below are the details. Note, we need a minimum of 6 runners to RSVP in order to offer this training. The limit is 15 runners, to keep things manageable. Below are the details. If you are willing to commit to the 4 weeks of training and then a 5K race the 5th week, please let me know. Thanks. Len Beginning Running Training ProgramBack by popular demand, LMJS will be offering a beginning running program for $30 for those who want to work up to a 5K which is 3.1 miles! These training sessions will be held for four Saturdays at 8:15am.with a 5K race the fifth week. Our runs will sample a few of the gorgeous Bay area trails. The first will be held Saturday, March 29 at 8:15am. at the Lake Merritt Sailboat House, where our 4th Sunday runs are held. We'll cover topics such as running shoes, running form, safety, injury prevention and hydration and nutrition along the way. Along with the class, your $30 will give you membership into LMJS, the East Bay’s oldest running club as well as entry into the April 4th Sunday Run 5K. We'll provide training schedules, maps, and lots of encouragement. You'll need to come ready to run every Saturday with a water bottle and towel for the end. This training is appropriate for anyone who wants to work up to a 5K and for those who haven't run for awhile and want to begin again. Preference will be given to those who have not taken the class before. RSVP required for this program, with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 participants. Come join the fun!
