BEGINNER RUNNING CLASS
Lake Merritt Run Club offers a beginner running class to help individuals prepare to comfortably run a 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles). This program is designed for those new to running or someone who wants to improve their endurance for distances of 3-6 miles.
The in-person training sessions start on Sunday May 24. We will meet in person on five consecutive Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the picturesque Lake Merritt in Oakland.
The program includes a five-week training plan to help everyone improve their overall running capacity. The program's optional goal race is the San Francisco Pride Run on June 27 hosted by San Francisco FrontRunners or Rock the Lock 5K/10K/Half Marathon on June 28 at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley (You would register separately.)
This group training series is supportive, fun, and engaging. They cover essential topics such as running form, safety, injury prevention, and other fundamental running skills. This five-week training includes a hands-on Sunday meet-up, a training plan, and helpful online documents and resources to keep you informed, motivated, and running strong.
The cost is $40 for current club members, $50 for non-members, and $30 for returning participants of Beginner Running. Saving money is a great reason to join a great club. You'll also receive discounts on future training and programs and stay connected to a diverse, welcoming, and fun running club.
